Dance is a conversation. When I collaborate with artists from other classical traditions, we explore the spaces where our styles meet and enrich one another.

A moment from 'Converse', my duet with the wonderful Bharatanatyam dancer Pavitra Krishna Bhat. Here, our two distinct styles meet and merge.

Performing a duet with Pavitra Krishna Bhat in Diu for India's Independence Day. Bringing together Kuchipudi and Bharatanatyam for a new audience was a truly joyful experience.

A throwback to a Thillana I performed with Bharatanatyam dancers Keerthana Ravi and Prachi Saathi. The stage comes alive with the combined energy of multiple dancers.

An excerpt from 'Converse', my duet production with Pavitra Krishna Bhat, performed at the NCPA in Mumbai. You can see how our movements, though from different forms, complement each other.

Another powerful image from 'Converse'. This piece explored the masculine and feminine energies, Shiva and Shakti, through the interplay of our two dance forms.

Practicing outdoors in Diu with Pavitra Krishna Bhat before our show. The natural rock formations provided a stunning, raw backdrop for our dance.

A dramatic pose from a duet performance. The challenge and beauty of a duet is to maintain one's own form while creating a harmonious picture with your partner.

A playful moment captured during our photoshoot in Diu. We called this our "diu-et"!

From 'Antar Yatra', a collaborative production with the brilliant Odissi dancer Sharmila Biswas. The vibrant colors of the fabrics add to the dynamic energy of the piece.

A moment of quiet connection with dancer Srilatha. Posing for photos in historic locations adds another layer of storytelling to our art.

About Jugalbandi: Duets & Group Choreographies

Performing a jugalbandi is about more than choreography, it is about finding a common rhythm between two distinct dance languages. Whether exploring the subtle shifts in footwork when dancing with a Bharatanatyam artist or matching the fluid energy of an Odissi performance, my focus remains on maintaining the integrity of Kuchipudi while allowing space for the other form to breathe and respond.
