Have you ever tried block printing on newspaper? It’s a creative way to reuse paper and create stunning, sustainable gift wrap. This video shows some of our unique designs and a glimpse of one of my workshops where you can learn this wonderful skill.

About this collection

I hand-print these on broadsheet newspapers using organic, skin-safe inks, so you get a truly one-of-a-kind look that standard store-bought paper cannot match. Because I stamp every sheet individually by hand, no two patterns are ever perfectly identical—and that is exactly the charm.

Why Choose Newspaper Gift Wrap?

Choosing paper that has already lived a life as a newspaper is a simple way to reduce waste while making your gift look special. Most wrapping paper is glossy, laminated, and impossible to recycle. My wraps are different. I take discarded broadsheets and give them a second life with hand-carved wooden blocks and organic, water-based inks.

The Process: Slow and Intentional

There is no machine involved here. I use traditional teak wood blocks to press each design. Whether it is a floral pattern for a birthday or a festive kite motif for Makar Sankranti, the pressure I apply, the angle of the block, and the ink consistency change ever so slightly with every stamp. You will see smudges and faint lines; that is the signature of a human hand at work, not a factory.

Practical Uses

  • Seasonal Occasions: I create limited editions for Christmas (think stripes and trees) and festivals.
  • Everyday Gifting: Designs like the 'Nazar' print or geometric florals work for any birthday or surprise.
  • Bulk Orders: If you are planning an event or party and need consistent branding on your favor wraps, I can coordinate patterns to match your theme.

My studio is based in Bengaluru, but I ship these sheets across India. If you want your wrapping to tell a story as meaningful as the gift inside, I would love to help you with that.
