Spiritual & Divine Art Paintings
Exploring Indian heritage and faith through watercolor and acrylic, capturing the divine stories I grew up with.
A watercolour painting of Ganpati Bappa, created to celebrate the joy and devotion of the Ganesh festival. The vibrant colours and serene expression are meant to bring blessings and positivity.
Another depiction of Ganpati Bappa, blending traditional imagery with expressive watercolour techniques. I love exploring different forms of Ganesha, each with its own unique energy and story.
This video shows me painting "Bal Ganesh" live on Saam TV. It was a special moment, as the painting was inspired by my son Yuvraj, whose first birthday coincided with Anant Chaturdashi.
The finished "Bal Ganesh" painting on display at the Saam TV studio. It was an honor to be invited to their "Kaladhipati" program and share this personal and spiritual artwork.

Adding the fine details and vibrant background to the "Bal Ganesh" watercolour. The wet on wet technique allows the colours to blend beautifully, creating a divine aura.
About this collection
My approach to these divine portraits goes beyond visual accuracy; I aim to capture the specific energy of the deity. For instance, the 'Stone Effect' texture you see in many of these pieces is a technique I developed after spending hours studying the ancient carvings at Ellora. It is not just about painting a figure, it is about recreating the timeless, weathered energy of stone on 300 GSM cotton paper.
When I paint subjects like Ganesha, Vitthal, or Shiva, I am not just creating a piece of decor. I am trying to translate the feelings of devotion I have felt since childhood.
My Process
Every commission starts with a conversation about what the deity or the theme means to you. Whether it is a vibrant Ganesha for your home or a serene depiction of Lord Vitthal for Ashadhi Ekadashi, I focus on the expression and the atmosphere.
- Technique: I predominantly use professional-grade Supervision watercolors to achieve those rich, vibrant washes, though I also work in acrylics for pieces requiring deeper texture and punchy colors.
- The 'Stone Effect': Many clients ask about the texture in my deity paintings. This is a deliberate stylistic choice inspired by Indian temple sculptures. I want the artwork to feel as if it has been carved from stone, possessing a weight and history that transcends the paper.
Customizing Your Vision
Because these pieces are often deeply personal, I am happy to customize elements based on your requirements. If you have a specific scene, a family story, or a traditional motif you want to incorporate, we can discuss how to blend that into the composition. For example, my 'Bal Ganesh' series was born from observing my own son's playful nature, proving that even the most divine themes can find grounding in our daily lives.
If you are commissioning a piece, please keep in mind that these are intricate works. I use high-quality cotton rag paper (Arches or Saunders Waterford) to ensure the longevity of the colors, which are lightfast and archival. I am based in Pune but handle secure shipping of these artworks across India, ensuring they reach you safely, ready to be framed and displayed in your home.
