Spiritual & Divine Art

These paintings are my connection to our rich Indian heritage and spirituality. I create commissioned pieces of deities like Ganesha, Vitthal, and Shiva, often inspired by my family, ancient sculptures, and cultural festivals. Each artwork is a personal exploration of faith, rendered in watercolour, acrylic, or oil to bring the divine story to life.

The Stone Series

This is my unique series where I use watercolour on paper to create the illusion of ancient stone sculptures. Inspired by my visits to historical sites like Ellora and Hampi, I try to capture the texture, depth, and timeless energy of these carvings. This collection features deities, historical figures, and scenes from our cultural heritage.

Faces of India: Character Studies

I am fascinated by the diverse faces and stories of people across India. This collection features portraits of sadhus, villagers, and everyday people I've encountered. Using watercolour, acrylic, and gouache, I aim to capture the character, emotion, and life etched into their faces, creating more than just a likeness.

Tributes in Paint

This collection is my tribute to the heroes and legends who have shaped our culture and history. From Maratha warriors like Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj to freedom fighters and iconic artists, I create these paintings to honor their legacy. These pieces are often done in a conceptual style, blending portraiture with symbolic elements.

Landscapes of India

I love painting outdoors, or "en plein air," to capture the true spirit of a location. This collection features watercolour and oil landscapes from my travels across India, from the serene ghats of Varanasi and Pushkar to the rugged forts of Maharashtra. Each painting is an attempt to bottle the unique light, mood, and atmosphere of the scene.

The Art of Calligraphy

Before focusing on painting, my great passion was "akshar lekhan," or the art of lettering. My father, also an artist, was my first teacher. This collection showcases my work in Marathi calligraphy, a skill I return to with great joy. This piece was created for Gulmohar Day on a 15 foot paper roll.
