About Our Stage Productions
Putting together a production takes dedication that goes far beyond just learning steps. We focus heavily on the practical side of stagecraft—costume coordination, makeup, and learning how to hold the stage with poise—so when my students step into the spotlight, they feel truly ready, not just practiced.
At Nritya Gurukul, the stage is an extension of our studio. I believe that true learning happens when a student moves from practicing in the classroom to sharing their art with an audience. Whether it is a solo Arangetram or a group mythological drama, my goal is to give every dancer the experience of professional performance.
Preparing for the Spotlight
It is not just about the 'taka-dhimmi' rhythm; it is about lighting, expression, and spatial awareness. For my younger students, performing in productions like 'Prema Vinod' helps build immense confidence. They learn how to work as a team, synchronize movements, and maintain focus under bright stage lights.
What Training Involves
We offer intensive training for these performances at my studio in Sector 82, Noida. This includes everything from body conditioning and abhinaya (expression) to coordination for group choreographies. My batches are strictly capped at eight students, which allows me to give personal attention to each dancer's technique and stage presence.

I am Akshatha Pai, and I run Nritya Gurukul with my dancer daughter and husband. We believe dance is a spiritual journey, and my mission is to nurture each student—my 'kiddos'—as they blossom from their first step to their time on the big stage.
