Delhi’s history is written in stone, but my lens finds the stories hiding in the shadows. From the symmetry of Safdarjung Tomb to the golden light on Jama Masjid, let us capture your memories against the city’s timeless backdrop.

Safdarjung's Tomb illuminated at night, its reflection captured in the water feature, framed by a traditional Mughal arch. This is a shot I took for an OPPO campaign.

The grand facade of Safdarjung's Tomb against a clear blue sky, showcasing its impressive scale and symmetrical design.

An angular view of Safdarjung's Tomb at golden hour, the warm light highlighting the intricate details of its domes and arches.

A close-up of the marble latticework inside the tomb, with the arched hallway creating a beautiful frame-within-a-frame.

An intimate shot of the carved marble detail on top of the cenotaph inside Safdarjung's Tomb.

An abstract detail of the marble inlay work on the tomb's ceiling, showing the beauty in the patterns and decay.

A video showcasing the beautiful shots I captured at Safdarjung's Tomb using my classic Fujifilm X100F camera.

A video reel capturing the serene morning atmosphere at Isa Khan's Tomb complex, including a surprise appearance by a dancing peacock.

The magnificent Jama Masjid illuminated at dusk, its perfect reflection creating a stunning, symmetrical image of faith and architecture.

The iconic Qutub Minar at night, viewed through an ancient archway, emphasizing its towering height and historical significance.

About Architectural Heritage: Echoes of Mughal Delhi

Planning a shoot at these monuments is all about timing. We need to work around the early morning light to capture the arches at Humayun’s Tomb or Safdarjung without the tourist crowds blocking the frame. My process focuses on these natural details, using my Fujifilm setup to get that distinct film-look that fits the texture of old stone.

When we step into places like Isa Khan’s Tomb or the Qutub Minar complex, the goal is to make the architecture breathe. I do not believe in heavy staging. Instead, I look for how the light hits the ancient marble latticework or how the shadows stretch across a cenotaph.

My approach to architectural photography in Delhi is rooted in three key elements:

  1. The Right Hour: The mid-day sun is harsh and flattens the depth of these structures. I prefer early mornings or the golden hour, which brings out the texture of the stone and creates that moody, timeless aesthetic.

  2. Fujifilm Color Science: I use Fujifilm gear specifically for its film-simulation modes. Unlike modern, overly sharp digital images, this gives your final photos a classic, organic feel that complements the history of these sites.

  3. Perspective: Whether it is a ground-level shot framing you through a Mughal arch or a drone perspective to show the scale of a complex, I mix wide angles and tight details to ensure we cover the full story of the location.

This is not just about standing in front of a monument. It is about capturing a moment where you and the history of Delhi exist in the same frame. If you have a specific tomb or heritage site in mind, let me know, and we can plan the best time and angle to shoot it.
