About Delhi Street Stories
When we shoot in the lanes of Delhi, I prefer starting early or catching that late afternoon glow. The way the light hits the weathered walls of Old Delhi creates a texture that studio lights just can’t replicate. We typically take around 3 hours to move through a location, which gives you plenty of time to settle in and stop thinking about the camera.
Shooting in Delhi is completely different from a controlled studio environment. The city itself acts as a character in your portrait session. I love working with the rustic textures of Old Delhi, using historic doorways, flower stalls, and narrow staircases to add depth and narrative to your photos.
My approach to these street-style shoots is driven by natural light. I use my Sony Alpha 7 IV paired with Sigma prime lenses to capture that buttery bokeh effect while keeping the focus entirely on you. Because we are outdoors in public spaces, there are no heavy lighting setups or rigid boundaries. We move, we explore, and we find the spots where the light falls just right.
Typically, a session lasts 2 to 3 hours. This is important because it takes time to shed the awkwardness of being in front of a lens. My goal is to capture that moment where you stop performing and just start being. Whether you want a moody, cinematic look or something bright and vibrant, we will work with the city’s natural palette to get it right. If you have a specific location in mind—be it a quiet balcony or a bustling market—let me know. I handle the composition and the technical side; you just bring your personality.
