Badminton-Specific Yoga and Mental Conditioning
I do not teach generic yoga. We practice specific asanas to build the balance for quick footwork and the mental calm to handle match pressure. This is for my athletes who want to play longer, move better, and stay injury-free.
I lead our group yoga sessions to build complete athletes. Here, my players are practicing Vrikshasana (tree pose) to improve the balance and stability they need for fast footwork and net play on the court.
About Group Yoga & Meditation Sessions
Our sessions happen right here at the academy on the synthetic floor, not in a fancy studio. We do not just stretch; we focus on specific movements like lunges and overhead reaches to support the explosive footwork you need for badminton. You need to bring your own mat, but everything else is built for hard work and game preparation.
I started these sessions because I saw my players getting sidelined by simple injuries. If you are a tournament player or a kid starting out, you need joint strength to last. We focus on ankles, knees, and wrists. During the session, we do Vrikshasana (tree pose) to build the balance required for net play.
Meditation is the other half of the battle. When the score is 20-20, you must stay calm. I teach my players to breathe and find that space to make the right choice. My mantra is 'ek second, maarna'—wait a second, hit it. It is about speed, but it is also about control.
We train in a group format at Vidya Bal Bhawan. It is disciplined and tough. You will sweat, you will work on your core, and you will learn to manage your heart rate. This is not about relaxing; it is about conditioning your body for the court. If you want to train seriously, this is where you start.
