Archery is 90% mental. At Avid Archery, we don't just teach you how to aim; we train your mind to stay calm under the pressure of the shooting line.

A typical morning at our club begins with yoga on the field. Athletes move through a sequence of asanas, from Ashwa Sanchalanasana to Bhujangasana, building core strength and flexibility before they even pick up a bow.

We practice a variety of yoga poses to enhance physical and mental balance. Our athletes are seen here holding Vrikshasana (Tree Pose) and Dhanurasana (Bow Pose), which are excellent for improving stability and concentration.

We were honored to host Dr. Ruchi Dahiya from the Art of Living for a special meditation session. She shared powerful techniques for enhancing mental performance, with our entire inclusive community, including para-athletes, participating.

We bring in international experts to give our athletes a mental edge. Here, Compound Coach Sergio Pagni from Italy leads a sports psychology workshop on managing the trigger and overcoming target panic, a critical skill for competitive archers.

Focus is a skill that we train just like any muscle. A coach leads the athletes through a series of pre-training focus drills, culminating in a moment of positive reinforcement for a young winner.

About Mind Over Matter: Yoga & Mental Training

Target panic happens when your mind gets in the way of your release, and no amount of bow practice can fix a distracted brain. We tackle this head-on with sports psychology workshops and daily morning yoga to build the focus you need to stay in the zone. If you have ever felt your heart racing on the shooting line, our sessions are designed to help you breathe through it and execute your shot with confidence.
