About this collection
Every tuxedo and jacket in this collection is constructed using a half-canvas or floating interlining technique, which allows the garment to mold to your body over time while maintaining a sharp, structured shoulder. Because we create these pieces in-house in Shahpur Jat, we can adjust the embroidery density or modify the metallic closures to ensure the jacket matches the specific formality level of your event.
When you choose a fusion piece, you are looking for a balance between two worlds. My approach focuses on maintaining the clean lines of a Western tuxedo while introducing Indian motifs that feel intentional rather than decorative.
The Construction Process
For the jackets in this collection, I prioritize fabrics with enough weight to hold a crisp shape, such as Italian wool blends and heavy velvet. The structural foundation is just as important as the exterior. I use horsehair interlining rather than simple glue-based fusing, which provides better breathability and allows the jacket to drape naturally against your frame.
Designing Your Look
Whether you are attending a black-tie gala, a wedding reception, or a high-end cocktail party, the customization options allow us to tailor the aesthetic to the occasion:
- Tonal Detailing: For a more subtle, elegant appearance, we use thread-matching embroidery on dark fabrics like navy or black velvet.
- Structural Innovation: I often incorporate asymmetrical closures, cowl draping, or metallic hardware to replace standard buttons, giving the garment a modern, architectural feel.
- Fit and Proportions: Since I oversee the production in my Delhi workshop, we focus on the fit of the trousers—typically cigarette or tailored straight-leg cuts—to ensure they anchor the boldness of the upper garment.
If you have a specific event in mind, we will discuss which fusion elements best suit the venue and the dress code. My goal is to create a piece that commands attention without relying on loud, over-the-top patterns.
Forte Bespoke
I am Arun Kaushik. At my studio in Shahpur Jat, I design for the man who understands that true style is about the details in the construction. I take the structural discipline of a classic tuxedo and infuse it with the soul of traditional Indian hand-work to ensure you stand out.
