Explore the fine details that define my work. From hand-stitched jaal work to precise pintuck finishes, these techniques are what make every garment distinct.

This video provides an intimate look at the hand-embroidery process. You can see the texture and detail of the floral and bird motifs as they are stitched, representing the hundreds of hours of artistry that go into my bespoke creations.

A close-up of a handcrafted 'sarpech' style brooch, a traditional head ornament I've repurposed as a jacket accessory. This small detail adds a significant touch of regality and heritage to a modern bandhgala.

A detailed view of the 'Pragyan' shrug's embroidery. This shot highlights the cream and gold threadwork, showcasing the garden-inspired motifs and the precision of the hand-stitching.

This image reveals the layered detail of the 'Mystic Rose' set. The V-cut jacket opens to show the embroidered placket of the inner kurta, a testament to my belief that every layer should be beautifully crafted.

A macro shot of the 'Maroon Ragalia' kurta. This view focuses on the unique diamond-cut texture of the fabric and the clean lines of the black pintuck detailing, showcasing a modern approach to textile design.

About this collection

My work involves a mix of tradition and modernity, but the real secret is in the construction. I use floating canvas interlining in heavier pieces so the jacket molds to your frame over time, rather than staying rigid. While machine work is faster, I rely on hand-stitched buttonholes and motifs because they provide a level of finish that cannot be replicated by automation.

The Science Behind the Style

When you look at a garment, it is easy to spot the main visual. What you cannot always see—but will definitely feel—is the foundation. For my structured fusion achkans and heavier sherwanis, I use a full floating horsehair canvas. This creates a flexible skeleton inside your jacket that adjusts to your body shape after a few wears. It is not just about the look; it is about how the garment moves with you.

Techniques at Play

  • Wired Jaal Work: I use wire-based embroidery to create structures that hold their shape. This is particularly useful for collars and cuffs where you want the pattern to stand out and remain crisp, even after a full day of events.
  • Hand-Finished Buttonholes: On the higher-end sets, every buttonhole is finished by hand. This prevents the fraying common with machine-stitched options and adds a subtle texture that catches the eye upon close inspection.
  • Textile Play: I intentionally mix materials. You will often find me pairing a crisp Italian wool jacket with raw silk inner layers. This contrast in texture creates depth that keeps the outfit interesting from every angle.

Why Process Matters

Because I make every piece to order in my Shahpur Jat studio, I control the tension of every stitch. If you choose a piece with intricate mirror work or heavy embroidery, I ensure the backing is soft and protected so it never irritates your skin. This is the difference between an outfit that looks good from across the room and one that feels right from the moment you put it on.
