Online Strength Training for Beginners
Strength isn't about gym weights. It is about how you move through your day. Join my 'Fit at 40' group sessions to build mobility and confidence, right from your living room.
Pushups are a fundamental part of building strength. In our classes, we work on different variations to build upper body and core stability, always focusing on good form.
This is a clip of my personal handstand practice, which requires a lot of core strength and balance. While we don't do this in the beginner's class, it shows what becomes possible as you build your foundation of strength over time.
I enjoy exploring different ways to challenge my body. Here I am practicing ashtavakrasana, an eight-angle arm balance, on parallel bars to build strength and coordination.
About A Look Inside Our Online Workouts
You might be wondering if you really need a gym membership to stay fit. In these sessions, we use just 3kg or 5kg dumbbells right from your living room to build muscle and joint health. I keep the group small on Zoom so I can watch your form, because building strength at 35 or 45 is not about how much you lift—it is about moving safely and staying consistent.
I designed these sessions for the 'Fit at 40' phase of life, where we are not looking to be bodybuilders, but we do want to feel strong and capable. We meet three times a week on Zoom, and the focus is on practical strength. We do mobility drills like the Elephant and Camel walk, followed by controlled dumbbell movements. This helps combat the stiffness that comes with desk jobs and sedentary routines. My philosophy is 'thoda thoda, roz'—do a little bit every day. You do not need to push yourself to exhaustion to see results. You just need to show up. Whether you are a total beginner or getting back into movement after years, this space is for you. No fancy setups, no intimidating gym crowds. Just you, your mat, a pair of dumbbells, and a community of people learning to move better, together. We focus on muscle retention and joint safety, using real-time verbal cues to make sure you get the most out of every move.
