About this collection
Our festivals are designed as participatory offerings, not passive performances. Whether you join us for the all-night vigil of Maha Sivaratri or the lighting of a thousand lamps during Sahasra Deepotsava, you will find yourself surrounded by traditional Carnatic music, Bharatanatyam, and the shared warmth of Maha Prasada.
We mark the calendar with events that bring together spiritual seekers and art lovers. The Ramana Maharshi Centre for Learning hosts these gatherings not as entertainment, but as sadhana—a means to deepen one's inquiry.
Our Maha Sivaratri observance is a cornerstone of our year. It is an all-night festival featuring Pravachanam (discourses), classical dance, and four Yama special pujas, offering a unique space for meditation and devotion until dawn.
During festivals like Ramana Aradhana or Sthapana Day, our shrine at Mekhri Circle comes alive with Laksharchana (mass chanting), Homa (fire rituals), and Ramananjali—our signature musical offering where students and experts perform sacred poetry. The Sahasra Deepotsava is particularly significant, as we light one thousand lamps to illuminate the shrine, creating an atmosphere of stillness and light that is ideal for internal reflection.
Every celebration is open to all. We believe in the power of collective presence, whether through the chanting of Aksharamanamalai or the simple act of partaking in the community meal provided as Maha Prasada. You are welcome to observe, participate, or simply sit in the quiet of our meditation hall during these times of high energy.
