Made It Myself: A Community Showcase of Your Creativity
Because not every piece of art needs to be for a gallery. Sometimes, it is just for you—to breathe, to process, and to find your calm. Share what you have created with our community.
This is our call for entries for the 'Made It Myself' campaign. We celebrate the quiet power of handmade art, the kind you make when no one is watching.
Made something by hand? Don't let it stay hidden. This is a call to share your painted, stitched, sculpted, or carved creations with our community.
Meet our first week's winner, Amal, who created this stunning ceramic clay piece. Swipe to see the art and the inspiration behind it.
A closer look at our winner's inspiration: a random Instagram post of a motorcycle parked near a wall, transformed into a ceramic sculpture.
The process behind the piece: made from ceramic clay with minimal tools, the structure is built and details are added before being fired in a kiln.
The artist is especially proud of the motorcycle subject, as building automotive figures is always exciting.
On the feeling of making art: "Making clay models like these is a mix of emotions... it gives an incomparable feeling of happiness."
A winner from our next week: funky acoustic guitars made with paper quilling, which can also be worn as a brooch.
Another winner: a beautiful crochet snowflake made to celebrate a son's first Christmas, with a space for a personalized photo.
A week 3 winner showcases a large, textured punch needle moth inspired by the ocean and coral reefs.
About Made It Myself: Celebrating Your Creativity
We are not looking for perfection or professional polish here. Whether you have spent months on a detailed crochet project or just doodled on the back of a notebook during a long day, we want to see it. Our Made It Myself campaign is a space to share non-commercial, personal art that helped you get through a tough week or simply brought you a moment of peace.
At A Hundred Hands, we believe that 'haath ka kaam' (work of the hands) is one of the most effective ways to slow down and reconnect with yourself. This space is not a marketplace for selling goods; it is a digital gathering spot for creators to show the 'raw' side of their work.
We feature everything from crochet snowflakes and pencil sketches to intricate ceramic sculptures. What unites these pieces is not their commercial viability, but the story behind them. Perhaps it was the mandala art that kept you grounded during lockdown, or the embroidery you stitched to celebrate a child's first Christmas. These personal projects are the heart of our community.
How to participate
If you have made something by hand, we want to see it. Send us a clear photo of your piece along with a few words about what inspired you to make it and why. We share these stories on our platforms to celebrate the quiet, often hidden effort that goes into handmade art.
We are particularly interested in showcasing the process. Tell us if you used recycled materials, if you learned a new technique from one of our workshops, or if you simply let your imagination take over. Whether you are in Bengaluru or elsewhere in India, your craft belongs here. Join us in celebrating the joy of simply creating, no pressure, no performance, just your hands and your story.
A Hundred Hands
I am Mala, and along with Sonia and our team, we started this space in a garden because we believe your hands hold stories that deserve to be seen. We are a bit nerdy about the process and picky about the craft, but mostly, we are just here to celebrate the joy of making something from scratch.
