Why I Teach Yoga to Kids
Yoga changed my life, so I want kids to find their own path early. It’s not about perfect poses - it’s about starting a journey, making yoga part of their daily sadhana (dedicated practice). I focus on progress, not perfection.
What Happens in Session
Think less boring, more masti (fun). My sessions are full of laughter, movement, and curiosity. We go ahista ahista (nice and slow), so everyone feels comfy. Small groups mean children learn from each other, turning yoga into a friendly, shared thing.
- Playful yoga poses: We turn asanas into yoga games for children, so they pick up basics without even realising.
- Calm corners: Kids try out mindfulness activities for kids - simple stuff like closing eyes, sitting quietly, just being with themselves.
- Kids breathing exercises: I teach them to notice their breath, a small trick for big moments in life.
What Kids Get Out of It
It’s not about becoming a yogi overnight. Each child finds small wins: a bit more flexibility, better balance, and a sprinkle of inner sukoon (calm). They get discipline, sharper focus, and tools for everyday life. I feel true Shukrana (gratitude) for every child who joins.

My Story
I am always learning, even as a certified Yoga teacher. Yoga for me? Not just fancy poses, but finding sukoon (peace) in the mind. I believe in 'Ahista, Ahista' - slow and steady, small wins, no rush. Classical Hatha Yoga is my jam, rooted in tradition and balance. As a Punjabi girl, I love sharing this with my Bangalore folks and online. Whether adults or kids, it’s all about living better, with shukrana (gratitude) in every breath.
