Magical Hand Shadow Tales & Animal Stories
My family and I turn simple hand shadows into the stories you grew up with. From clever foxes to wise elephants, we bring the Panchatantra to life right before your eyes.
Here I am on Chintu TV, presenting our weekly shadow story show, 'Neralina Aata'. We have created many episodes based on Panchatantra tales for young audiences.
About Animal Fables & Kids' Tales
To get the shadows looking sharp and clear, I need the venue to be completely dark—no stray lights near the stage. My family and I bring the screen and the specialized point-source lighting, but that 100% blackout space is the one thing I need you to confirm before we start the show.
Hand shadow puppetry is more than just making shapes with fingers. It is an ancient form of storytelling, what we call Neralina Aata in Kannada. When I perform these animal fables, I am not just mimicking an animal; I am trying to tell a story with a lesson, just like the Panchatantra tales that have been passed down for generations.
Why Hand Shadows for Kids?
Children are naturally curious. When they see a hand on the screen turn into a rabbit or an eagle, their imagination takes over. Unlike digital cartoons, this is live and organic. My children, Pooja and Pratheek—the 'Shadow Siblings'—join me on stage, and we weave these tales together. It feels personal, real, and interactive.
The Setup
Whether you are hosting a birthday party in Bengaluru or a cultural festival elsewhere, the requirement for a perfect shadow show is simple: darkness. We use high-intensity point-source lighting to project crisp images onto our professional screen. If the room is bright, the magic fades. If you are planning an event, please check if your venue can provide a dedicated, dark stage area.
Customization
We offer different ways to experience these stories:
- Live Stage Act: Best for large gatherings where the whole crowd can watch the silhouettes dance.
- Interactive Sessions: We encourage kids to guess the animal, making it an engaging game rather than a passive show.
- Virtual Performances: If you cannot host us in person, we stream high-quality, multi-camera performances directly to your screen, ensuring the storytelling doesn't stop because of distance.
