About Shadowgraphy (Hand Shadow Storytelling)
What I Do
Art is a family thing for us. I’m Prahlad Acharya and with my kids, we bring Neralu - Belaku (Shadow - Light) to life using just hands, a lamp, and a screen. Our shadow stories aren’t just about cool shapes - we spin full tales, with moments that make you smile or wonder.
How Our Shadow Play Works
Hand shadow puppetry is all about using fingers and palms to turn darkness into living pictures. We go beyond simple animals or people, mixing them into interactive shadow storytelling that’s easy for anyone to follow.
Types of Shows
- Live events: We perform Indian mythology shadow play and animal tales at festivals, office parties, family gatherings, wherever you want the magic.
- Virtual shadow show: If you’re not in Karnataka, we stream shows straight to your device. Good for connecting folks in different places.
- Family shadow performance: It’s not just me - my son and daughter join in, so you get all three of us, each bringing our own style to the stories.
Story Themes
- Epic myths: Heroes, gods, and adventures
- Classic kids’ tales: Panchatantra, animal fables
- Creatures: Deer, cats, birds, all made from our hands
Miss maaddhe nodtha iri (Don’t miss it, keep watching). We aren’t perfect, but every show is real, and the joy is always shared.

My Story
Namaskara, I’m Prahlad Acharya. Magician, shadow artist, but first—son, husband, father. My art is a family thing. My wife, my kids Pooja and Pratheek (maybe you’ve seen us as Psychic Siblings or Shadow Siblings), we share the stage, share the joy. My maa, my gurus, friends—every show I do, I carry their blessings, their dāri dīpagaḷu (guiding lights). Performing is my way of honouring them, and sharing a bit of my heart with you.
My Work
Magic, Hand Shadowplay, Ventriloquism, Mentalism - I perform magic shows, Hand Shadowplay (Neralina Aata), ventriloquism, and mentalism—on stage, at home, online.
Family Acts: Psychic Siblings & Shadow Siblings - I often perform with my kids, Pooja and Pratheek. Our Psychic Siblings act brings a special energy.
Hand Shadowplay Storytelling - My Hand Shadowplay isn’t just shapes—it’s kathé (storytelling). We bring Panchatantra tales and social messages to life.
Magic for All Events - We’ve done shows at big festivals, private parties, corporate events, and even virtual magic shows. Every show is a sahayaatra (journey together).
