About Mind & Body: Yoga, Games, and Brain Gym
Physical development is about more than just running around. It is about coordination and 'crossing the midline.' Our hoop-hopping and balloon-balancing games are structured to help your child connect hand movements to visual focus, which is a foundational skill for later reading and writing.
Montessori education focuses on the whole child, and that includes the body. When children engage in Brain Gym exercises or partner games, they are building the nerve pathways that improve concentration and emotional regulation.
Why Physical Engagement Matters
In an age where screens often dominate playtime, we prioritize active, tactile engagement. Every activity we choose helps children understand their own strength, flexibility, and spatial awareness.
What We Do
- Rooftop Yoga: We introduce basic poses like the tree pose to teach balance and breathing exercises to help children find calmness and body awareness.
- Gross Motor Skills: Our hoop-hopping courses improve coordination and sequencing. Children learn to plan their movements and execute them with confidence.
- Team-Based Challenges: We use partner games, such as moving a ball along a string without using hands, to foster communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Brain Gym: We utilize specific hand and finger movements designed to stimulate both sides of the brain, improving learning readiness and focus.
Whether it is a seated meditation pose for a quiet moment or a high-energy movement session, our goal is to lay the foundation for a healthy lifestyle, one stretch and one jump at a time.
