Guest Lectures and Legal Workshops for Students
I engage with law schools and colleges across India to bridge the gap between textbook theory and courtroom reality. My sessions are designed to move beyond the syllabus, teaching students how to use the law as a powerful tool for social change.
Speaking to students at a Mumbai college, I share my journey of becoming a lawyer at 48 to show that it's never too late to pursue your passion. I encourage them to focus on their careers, build self-confidence, and let their work speak for itself.
Interacting with students at BITS Law School after my guest lecture on Public Interest Litigation. It is always invigorating to see their curiosity and passion for using law as a force for good.

About Engaging with the Next Generation
My lectures are not about reciting sections; they are a 90-minute roadmap on the mechanics of Public Interest Litigations (PILs) and the harsh reality of the justice system. I include a dedicated 30-minute open-floor Q&A in every session, where no question is too difficult or off-limits, ensuring students get answers about career pivots, legal hurdles, and the grit required for public service.
Beyond the Classroom: Real Legal Experience
I believe the next generation of lawyers shouldn't just learn law—they must learn how to survive and thrive in it. When I walk into an auditorium at BITS Law School or Mount Carmel, I bring the raw energy of the courtroom with me.
What You Can Expect:
- Practical PIL Training: We deconstruct real Public Interest Litigations I have filed. You will see how we identify systemic issues, gather evidence, and hold authorities accountable. It is a masterclass in using the Constitution to drive civic action.
- The Reality of Practice: I share my own journey of switching from civil service to law at 48. I am blunt about the challenges, the corruption, and the patience required to win. This is the advice I wish I had received at the start of my own journey.
- Current Legal Trends: We discuss the application of new laws like the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and how they actually function in the real world, rather than just how they look on paper.
Session Structure
My academic sessions are structured for maximum engagement. I typically deliver a high-energy 45 to 60-minute keynote address, followed by a substantial Q&A. I want to provoke thought and debate. Whether it is about career guidance, navigating gender dynamics in the workplace, or standing up to systemic failure, I provide honest, no-nonsense answers.
I come with a junior associate to assist, and my team ensures we cover all administrative requirements, including recordings for your internal non-commercial libraries. If you are looking for a speaker who will inspire your students to be fearless, let’s talk.
Abha Singh
I spent years in the civil service before moving to the High Court at 48, so I know exactly what it takes to break the mold. I speak at law schools not because it is a job, but because our country needs young lawyers who actually care. When you invite me, you are not getting a dry lecture; you are getting a blunt, honest conversation about what it truly takes to fight for justice.
