I design terraces that serve as true extensions of the home. By combining the rustic charm of French countryside living with classical design principles, I create outdoor spaces that feel as grand and comfortable as your indoor rooms.
This terrace combines classic French design with the relaxed feel of outdoor living. The space features a black and white checkerboard floor, comfortable wicker and upholstered seating, and a pergola draped in white roses, evoking the tranquil charm of the French countryside.
About Outdoor & Terrace Living
When designing this terrace, I focused on layering textures to create a space that feels grand yet inviting. We utilized outdoor-grade checkerboard flooring to ground the area, while the overhead pergola provides essential shade for social gatherings. Every element, from the moisture-resistant upholstery to the strategic placement of light fixtures, is selected to maintain grace despite the shifting Indian climate.
Designing for the outdoors requires a balance between aesthetic beauty and structural resilience. My approach to terrace design ignores the trend of sparse, empty spaces in favor of creating a rich, layered environment that feels lived-in and welcoming.
The French Countryside Influence
For this project, I drew inspiration from the tranquility of French garden design. By using high-contrast black and white flooring, we create a strong focal point that mimics classical European paving. The white brick walls and climbing greenery soften the structure, ensuring the space feels organic and serene.
Materials for Longevity
An outdoor space in Delhi NCR needs to withstand intense heat and monsoon rain. I prioritize materials that age well:
