About Custom Storytelling & Portraits

Detailed portrait mehndi requires patience, as I hand-sketch every figure to match your likeness. These designs typically take 6 to 8 hours to apply. Before we begin, I consult with you on your reference photos, such as Varmala ceremony scenes or baby shower concepts, to ensure the final sketches perfectly capture your vision.

Your Story in Henna

Mehndi is often considered a traditional bridal accessory, but for me, it is a canvas for your life's biggest milestones. When you opt for portrait or storytelling mehndi, you are not just getting a pattern; you are getting a narrative.

My Process for Custom Figures

I specialize in semi-realistic portrait work. Whether it is capturing the expression of a bride, the Varmala exchange, or the joy of a baby shower, I use fine-tip 0.3mm cones to ensure the lines are crisp and recognizable.

  • Consultation: We start by reviewing the reference images you provide. I sketch these out to ensure the likeness and scale are correct before applying them to your hands.
  • Placement: I strategically place these portraits so they are the focal point, often framed within heart shapes or traditional lotus cutwork to balance the modern figure with classic elements.
  • Quality: I exclusively use 100% home-mixed organic henna. Because these designs are dense, the stain development is crucial, and my formula ensures a deep, rich color.

Beyond Weddings

Storytelling isn't just for brides. I frequently work on baby shower themes, incorporating elements like 'Aai' and 'Baba' figures, 'Twins Loading' announcements, or baby clothes, making these designs a special part of your celebration. If you have a specific memory, or even a cartoon inspiration, just share it. We will translate that into a design that stays with you long after the celebration.
