Preserving Precious Details
Don't let your cherished garments sit in a trunk. We carefully salvage the embroidery and borders you love to create a fresh, modern outfit that keeps your memories intact.
The journey of an outfit from a simple sketch to a wearable piece of art. This video shows the intricate process of hand-beading and embroidery, bringing the design to life step by step before the final outfit is stitched.
It's so important to preserve the memories held in a wedding lehenga. For this project, we carefully recreated the original flower butis and embroidery from our client's bridal blouse onto a new, modern design she could wear again.
A closer look at the stunning details on this upcycled lehenga. We focus on preserving and highlighting the intricate handwork, like the zardozi and bead embroidery on the sleeves and blouse, to make your new outfit truly special.
From a single piece of heavily embellished fabric to a complete outfit. We used this gorgeous shell-patterned beaded material to create a custom-fit kurta and a matching potli bag, ensuring no beautiful detail goes to waste.
Every little detail counts. Here’s a sneak peek at some beautiful handmade tassels, crafted with care in our studio. These small touches are what make your custom outfits unique.
About Preserving Precious Details
When we transform an old saree or lehenga, the mapping process is everything. We carefully analyze the fabric to dodge any thin spots or stains, making sure those signature embroidery butis and borders are placed exactly where they will shine on your new silhouette.
Our approach to preservation isn't just about cutting fabric, it is about respecting the history woven into every thread. Whether you have a heavy bridal lehenga or a vintage silk saree, here is how we handle your pieces:
The Consultation
We start by looking at your garment together. If the fabric has age-related wear or stains, we map out the 'clean' sections. My team and I plan the pattern placement to ensure we only use the best parts, often supplementing with plain, high-quality fabric to provide structure or to extend the length.
Salvaging the Intricate Bits
This is the heart of the work. We meticulously deconstruct the original piece to save handmade tassels, zardozi work, and border patches. If you loved the specific placement of a flower motif on your original blouse, we make sure that same motif becomes the hero of your new design.
Giving It a Modern Fit
Preservation is useless if you do not wear the final piece. We combine the old details with modern construction techniques like can-can layering for volume, or internal boning for gowns, so you get an outfit that feels brand new but carries the soul of the original.
We are based in Punjabi Bagh, and we love having clients visit the studio to discuss their pieces. If you are in Delhi NCR, let's talk about turning your memories into something you can wear today. 🧿
