A exploration of how we translate memories, local materials, and nature into built environments for Namma Bengaluru.

About this collection

I do not believe in rushing a project to a photoshoot immediately after handover. My practice relies on a patient approach, allowing the greenery to take hold and the materials to weather. When you visit a project like Nemmadi, you see how the structure has settled into the site, enabling the landscape to weave through the living spaces rather than functioning as a static object.

Architecture is rarely a linear process. It is a dialogue between the site, the client, and the environmental constraints we face in our city. These concepts represent the exploratory phase of my work, where we test how light, volume, and ventilation interact before finalizing the blueprint.

The Biophilic Connection

Most of my work is driven by the desire to bring the garden city identity back into modern homes. This involves more than just planting a few pots. We focus on structural integration, such as double-height mezzanines that allow for natural chimney effects, or large-span windows that frame the greenery outside. The goal is to ensure your home feels like a natural extension of the landscape, not an enclosed box that relies on mechanical cooling.

Material Honesty

I prefer materials that age gracefully. We use wire-cut bricks, laterite, and granite in their raw form because they handle Bengaluru’s climate without needing constant maintenance. These materials absorb the history of the site, developing a patina over time that adds character to the home. By avoiding synthetic laminates and standard glossy finishes, we create interiors that feel tactile and warm.

Collaborative Evolution

My process is not about imposing a fixed style. Instead, we use sketch sessions and physical models to understand how you live. If you require a space for introspection, we look at courtyards and skylights. If you need a space that accommodates large family gatherings, we explore open layouts that connect indoor and outdoor zones. By involving you in the conceptual journey, the final build becomes a true reflection of your personality.
