My design philosophy often resonates beyond the drawing board. Here is a look at the projects that have been featured in national and international architectural publications.

I was incredibly proud to see "House of Greens" featured in the international publication Wallpaper*. The article highlighted it as a nature-filled residence responding to Bangalore's "Garden City" identity.

Our "House of Greens" project was published on ArchDaily, one of the world's most visited architecture websites. This image shows the inviting entrance that was featured.

The cover of Antarya Magazine, a publication by the IIID Bangalore chapter, which featured one of my projects and our approach to design.

An article in Antarya Magazine titled "Shrouded in Greens," detailing the design philosophy and sustainable approach of the "House of Greens" project.

An interview feature in Authindia Magazine where I discuss my guiding principles, the importance of using local materials, and how we nurture traditional crafts in our projects.

My "House Belaku" project was featured in the IW Magazine special issue, DETAIL '24, which focuses on projects with exceptional construction details and craftsmanship.

The cover of "77 Stunning Indian Homes," a book that featured my project, "A Home by the Park," showcasing its tropical luxury and integration of art.

About this collection

Seeing a project like House of Greens on a platform like ArchDaily or in Wallpaper* is gratifying, not for the recognition, but because it validates the core idea of sustainable, nature-integrated living in Namma Bengaluru. These features typically dive into how we handle technical challenges—like passive cooling, rainwater harvesting, or the use of local laterite and granite—rather than just the aesthetics. It proves that a home can be a quiet, breathing space even within the density of a modern city.

Building Conversations

Every feature you see here represents a dialogue between our studio and the broader architectural community. When publications like IW Magazine or Surfaces Reporter spotlight our work, they are usually interested in the "how"—the raw construction details, the specific craftsmanship behind our brick jalis, and the complex engineering required to bring vertical greenery into a private home.

Design Ethos

The focus remains consistent: creating spaces that enhance life. For instance, the recognition of "House Belaku" for its craftsmanship and "House of Greens" for its biophilic approach reinforces our belief that urban architecture must bridge the gap between built structures and the natural world.

What these features reveal about our approach:

  • Technical Depth: We go beyond surface-level design. These articles outline how we achieve passive cooling, double-height volumes, and large-span glazing using high-performance systems.
  • Material Honesty: We favor natural, aging materials like FSC-certified teak, wire-cut bricks, and Kota stone. Features often highlight these choices for their durability and emotional warmth.
  • The Process: It is not just about the final image. Our design process—based on conversation, sketching, and questioning—is what ensures each home is a personalized response to the site and the user.

These features serve as an archive of our learning. Each project pushes us to refine our approach to the unique climate and heritage of Bangalore, ensuring that the homes we build today remain relevant for decades.

I am Chandrakant. My work is a constant conversation with the city I grew up in, using design to bring back the peace of old Bangalore. I believe in architecture that breathes, where every brick and window serves a purpose beyond aesthetics.
