A successful cover-up is not just about drawing over old ink. I use a freehand marker directly on your skin to map out how the new design flows over your old tattoo or scar. This ensures the new lines sit perfectly to mask what is underneath, so you get a clean, seamless result without any bleeding through.
Getting a tattoo is a personal commitment, but sometimes what we got years ago no longer fits our current self. Maybe it is a name that doesn't belong anymore, a faded design, or a scar you would prefer to soften. At Zero3 Studio, I focus on turning these into transformations.
How I approach cover-ups
Covering an old tattoo is technically harder than doing a fresh piece on clean skin. I have to account for the old pigment density. If the previous work is too dark, we discuss options like laser lightening first. For others, we design a new piece that integrates or fully blocks the old ink. I often use freehand markers to outline the new design directly on your body to ensure the placement matches your anatomy and effectively hides the past.
Scar concealment
Scars require extra care. They are textured and behave differently than normal skin. My priority here is safety. I use specialized techniques to ensure the ink settles properly without irritating the scar tissue. Whether it is a surgery mark or an injury, my goal is to give you back your confidence by turning that spot into something beautiful.
The process
It starts with a 15-minute assessment. I need to see the original tattoo or scar in person or via high-quality photos. Once I assess the density and size, I tell you honestly what is possible. No false promises. We space out sessions appropriately to let your skin breathe and heal. My goal is simple: you walk out with art you love, not a reminder of what you wanted to hide.
