High-Intensity Tennis Footwork & Agility Training in Delhi
Movement is 90% of your game. I run these drills to make sure you aren't just hitting balls, but getting to them with enough time to set up your shots properly, every single time.
This is a classic speed and reaction drill. I feed balls quickly to force players to move fast, stay low, and be ready for anything. The constant verbal push for more speed is part of our training culture.
This video demonstrates our lateral training drill with resistance bands. This exercise is crucial for building the specific muscles needed for powerful side-to-side movement in tennis.
A speed and coordination workout designed to improve reaction time and agility. Players must listen for the call, react instantly, and compete to reach the net first.
Watch the intensity as players execute this fast-paced movement drill. The focus is on quick recovery and maintaining balance while moving at top speed to hit the ball.

About On-Court Drills: Footwork & Agility
You will often see me using resistance bands or rapid-fire ball feeding to force lateral power and quick reactions. In tennis, you can have a perfect swing, but if you don't get there in time, it doesn't matter. My goal in these drills is to reduce the time between your opponent’s shot and your own setup, making sure you are always balanced and ready to attack.
Training for Real Court Coverage
Many players focus on their serve and groundstrokes but neglect the movement that links them together. At Xtreme Tennis Academy in Dwarka, we treat agility as the foundation of your tennis fitness. If you can't reach the ball comfortably, you can't hit it effectively.
What Our Agility Drills Look Like
We don't do generic gym workouts here. We build tennis-specific athleticism through:
- Lateral Quickness: We use resistance bands to build the hip and leg strength needed for explosive side-to-side movement. This helps you recover faster after every shot.
- Reaction & Speed: I use high-intensity feed drills to force you to react instantly. You have to listen, move, and execute in seconds.
- Court-Specific Footwork: Whether you are on our Synthetic Acrylic Hard Courts or our clay courts, the footwork changes. We train to adapt to both surfaces so you aren't caught off guard during tournaments.
The 'Mehnat' Mindset
I always tell my players: Mehnat kar paseena baha, rukna aur thakna hai mana (work hard, sweat it out, no stopping, no giving up). These drills are tiring, and they are designed to be that way. By pushing your endurance in training, we make match play feel easier. Whether you are prepping for DLTA tournaments or just want to level up your recreational game, this is where you build the foundation to compete. We focus on consistency and muscle memory, ensuring that even when you are tired in the third set, your feet still know where to go.
