Behind the Scenes: Our Architectural Construction Process
Architecture is the bridge between a blueprint and a living space. Here is how we bridge that gap, from the first steel framework to the final touch of hand-carved stone.
This video shows our hands-on process at the Banaras haveli site, inspecting hand-carved stone elements with local artisans. We believe in honoring traditional craftsmanship and work closely with skilled craftspeople to ensure every detail is authentic and built to last.
An on-site video showing the Banaras haveli under construction. This clip reveals the scale of the project and the raw structure before the application of fine finishes, giving a sense of the architectural transformation.
This construction footage from the haveli focuses on the inner courtyard and the intricate archways being built. It highlights the traditional bamboo scaffolding used by local artisans, showcasing the blend of modern structure and heritage building methods.
A wider view of the haveli construction site, showing the steel framework and the beginning of the masonry work. This illustrates the hybrid construction approach we adopted, using a modern steel frame to support the traditional stone and brick facade.
A comparison of the initial render and the actual construction progress for a residence in Dehradun. This shows our design vision coming to life, with a focus on raw textures, natural tones, and a seamless flow between indoors and outdoors.
An under-construction photo of our Jammu residence. This image shows the concrete structure and the application of the stone cladding, offering a glimpse into the building process.
Another construction site image from the Jammu project, showing the scale of the structure and the raw form of the cantilevered sections. This highlights the engineering and architectural work behind the finished design.
A photo from our Pilerne, Goa construction site, showing the steel and concrete structure of the villas taking shape. This gives a behind-the-scenes look at the complex architectural forms being realized.
A view from inside the Banaras construction site, looking up at the ceiling where carved stone panels have been used as part of the shuttering. This innovative technique embeds the decorative finish directly into the structure.
An artisan carefully places a piece of carved stone molding at the haveli site. This image captures the human touch and precision involved in the construction, emphasizing our commitment to handcrafted details.
About From Blueprint to Build: Our Process on Site
Good design is useless without diligent execution. We conduct 2-4 site supervision visits every month, working directly with local artisans to ensure the actual build matches our original drawings. Whether we are placing steel frameworks in Goa or checking hand-carved stone alignments in Banaras, we are there to ensure quality is never compromised.
Architecture is rarely a linear path. While our 3D renders offer a clear vision, the reality on-site is where the true character of a space is formed. We embrace this phase as a dialogue between our design intent and the constraints of the ground.
The Art of Supervision
Construction is the phase where most projects lose their soul. Our approach involves active site management where we step away from the desk to solve problems in real-time. By managing vendors and structural engineers ourselves, we maintain the integrity of our design. We believe that on-site supervision is the only way to guarantee that a material like exposed concrete or Chunar sandstone is treated with the respect it deserves.
Bridging Heritage and Modernity
Our projects often require a hybrid construction approach. In our heritage restoration work, such as the Banaras haveli, we combine modern steel frames to ensure structural safety with traditional building techniques like lime plastering and stone masonry. This allows us to create spaces that feel ancient but perform like modern, efficient homes.
Render vs. Reality
Clients often ask how close the finished project will be to the initial visualization. We pride ourselves on the accuracy of our process, as seen in our Dehradun residence projects. By maintaining strict BOQ (Bill of Quantities) creation and sourcing authentic, region-specific materials, we minimize the gap between the concept and the final build. We don't just design; we build to last.
