The Wekins Story: Authentic Flavors from Our Kitchen
Discover the journey behind Wekins, where grandmother's secret recipes and a mother's love meet small-batch home kitchen craftsmanship.
Meet the founders and the inspiration behind it all. The idea came from our mother, who learned traditional pickle-making skills from her mother-in-law, carrying the legacy of taste forward.
After 25 years of perfecting her craft for family and friends, our founder Rashmi Anand felt the urge to do something of her own. She started small, with a heart full of recipes and love.
Her son, exploring the world of business, saw a bigger vision. He decided to help turn her passion into a brand, bringing traditional tastes to a wider audience.
Together, this mother-son duo turned that little spark into a growing brand. We got certified, built processes, and scaled our homemade goodness step by step, never losing the personal touch.
We are so proud of our journey from pickles to prime time. Our co-founder was invited to Doordarshan to share our story and discuss the future of traditional Indian flavors.
Here is a snapshot of our co-founder on Doordarshan's 'Vichar Vimarash', sharing his thoughts on food processing and how to preserve authentic taste while growing a brand.
From homemade recipes to a growing food brand. This appearance was a special moment for us, representing a journey of entrepreneurship, innovation, and authentic Indian taste.
We were proud to represent young entrepreneurs in India's food industry on a national platform. This video shows highlights from the discussion on the importance of 'Shri Ann' (millets) and food processing.
When they ask what we bring to the table, the answer is simple. We bring homemade recipes, authentic flavors, naturally preserved goodness, and finger-licking taste made with the freshest ingredients.
About Our Story: From Our Family to Yours
When my mom, Rashmi Anand, decided to bottle her traditional pickles and candies, she wasn't building a factory. She was scaling a memory. Every jar you open is handmade in small batches right here in Ashok Vihar, using the same sun-drying methods our family has trusted for decades. We never use preservatives or mass-production shortcuts because the moment you compromise on the process, you lose that 'ghar ka swad' we all crave.
Our journey started not in a boardroom, but in a home kitchen. My mom, Rashmi, learned the art of pickling from her mother-in-law when she was just a teenager. For 25 years, these recipes were shared only with friends and family. When I returned home from abroad, I realized that the comfort of a homemade pickle was exactly what people were missing in their busy lives.
Scaling Without Changing
Growing a brand like Wekins is a balancing act. We have been featured on Doordarshan for our commitment to authentic food processing, but that doesn't mean we have changed our methods. We still hand-mix our ingredients and rely on the Delhi sun to dry our pickles and aam papad.
Why We Do It
- No Preservatives: We rely on natural preservation methods like oil, salt, and sunshine.
- Traditional Ingredients: We source specific varieties, like Ramkela mango, to ensure the taste profile remains true to tradition.
- Small Batches: By keeping production small, we ensure every jar gets the same attention that goes into a meal cooked for family.
Whether you are looking for that nostalgic tangy Imly candy or a robust, spicy pickle that reminds you of childhood summer holidays, you are getting the same product we serve at our own table. We are not just selling pickles; we are sharing the traditions that hold our family together.
