About Outdoor & Family Sessions
We plan these sessions during the Golden Hour to catch that soft, natural light, but it also gives your pet the necessary time to sniff, play, and get comfortable before we start shooting. I don’t believe in forcing stiff poses—I’d much rather capture the way your dog tilts their head when you call them, or that quiet, authentic connection during a family walk. If you are planning a session, aim for early mornings or late afternoons when the city parks are quietest and the light is most forgiving.
Why Choose an Outdoor Session
For many families, home is where they are most comfortable, but an outdoor space is where they are most active. Whether it is a quiet park in Matunga or a breezy walk along the Mumbai coastline, outdoor sessions allow your pets to be their true selves. My goal is to capture the dynamic energy of your family unit, not just a static image.
The Logistics of a 2-Hour Shoot
I structure these 2-hour sessions to prioritize your pet's comfort levels.
- Golden Hour: We stick strictly to early morning or late afternoon times. This is the only time the light is soft enough to avoid harsh shadows and, crucially, it is when the temperature is cool enough for your dog to be happy.
- Interaction over Instruction: I don't give complex instructions. I give you space to walk, play, and interact with your pet while I move around to capture the angles.
- Capacity: Each session accommodates your pet and up to two adult owners. This keeps the environment manageable for the animal and ensures I can focus on the relationships within that small group.
Preparing for Your Session
- Permits & Access: Mumbai parks and beaches can be tricky with permissions. Please check if your chosen location requires a photography permit beforehand.
- The 'Just in Case' Bag: Bring your pet’s favorite squeaky toy or specific high-value treats. I carry basic dry treats, but having their own stash helps immensely if they get distracted.
- Style: Wear comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting a little grass or sand on. If we are doing a maternity or couple-focused shoot, we can definitely build in time for one quick outfit change.
