About this collection

When you bring a pet into a shoot, you have to let go of the idea of a perfect, posed portrait. My sessions are about working around their rhythm—if they want to sniff the grass, run, or cuddle, we follow that lead. Whether it is a golden retriever in a forest or a Shih Tzu at home, the best photos happen when you are just interacting naturally, not staring at the lens.

Why Pets Change the Dynamic

Photography is all about capturing connection, and pets are often the ones who bring out the most genuine reactions from a family. When you include your dog or cat in a session, the atmosphere shifts from a scheduled photoshoot to an experience.

I treat pets as equal family members, not just props. If we are shooting outdoors in the greenery around Mulund or Thane, we scout for areas where they can be safe and comfortable. We take breaks, we play, and I wait for that moment when you and your pet are just being yourselves.

Practical Considerations for Pet Shoots

  • Patience is the only rule: We don’t rush. If your pet needs time to get used to the camera or a new location, we give it to them.
  • Location Matters: For hyperactive pets, an open, enclosed outdoor space is better than a confined indoor studio. If your pet is older or more timid, an in-home lifestyle session is often much more relaxing for them.
  • Bring the Familiar: I always recommend bringing their favorite toy or a blanket they use at home. It helps them settle in and keeps them calm during the shoot.

My Approach to Pet Photography

I don't believe in using forced, static posing. My goal is to capture the 'in-between' moments—the look on your dog’s face when they see you, the way they nuzzle into you during a maternity shoot, or the pure joy of a pet’s first birthday. Whether we are doing a fine-art maternity session or a casual family walk, the goal is always to keep the experience stress-free for both you and your furry friend.

I am Payal, and for me, a family portrait is incomplete if the four-legged members aren’t included. I am comfortable with all kinds of pets, whether it’s a hyperactive pup in a park or a calm dog during an in-home session, and I know how to keep them happy while we get the shot.
