I transform your favorite wedding and family photographs into timeless, hand-painted oil portraits. Every stroke on the canvas is a piece of therapy for me, designed to capture the emotion and intricate details of your most cherished memories. ✨

This is a commissioned dual portrait of an older couple, painted with oil on a canvas board. I aimed to capture their warmth and lifelong bond through their gentle expressions and the soft lighting.

A video showing the process behind the wedding portrait commission. It includes mixing skin tones on my wooden palette, applying fine details to the bride's red saree, and the final artwork displayed on the easel.

This process video shows me painting the bride's joyful expression and her intricate wedding jewelry. I use a grid method for accuracy and build up the colors in layers to achieve a realistic and vibrant look.

A time lapse of me painting the bride's face for a wedding portrait. You can see how I start with the basic shapes and gradually add details like the smile, the nose ring, and the maang tikka.

A work in progress video of the couple's portrait. This clip focuses on the detailed work on the floral patterns of the dupatta and the texture of the clothing, showing how each element is carefully painted.

This video shows the initial stages of the couple's portrait, starting from the pencil sketch on the canvas. I begin by blocking in the faces and hair, establishing the foundation for the detailed layers to come.

About Wedding & Family Portraits

Because I work with traditional oil paints, my process relies on slow, careful layering. This means creating your portrait isn't a quick print job; it takes about 4 to 6 weeks for the painting to be layered, detailed, and properly cured. If you are planning this as a surprise gift for an anniversary or wedding, please reach out well in advance so I can give your piece the time it truly needs.

How Your Painting Comes to Life

When you commission a wedding or family portrait, you aren't just getting a reproduction. You are getting an oil painting that builds up over several weeks. I start by prepping the canvas and using a grid method to ensure the likeness is accurate to your photo. From there, it is all about the layers.

Oil painting is a slow process of meditation for me. I love focusing on the details that make a photo special, whether it is the intricate patterns on a bridal saree, the sparkle in a piece of heirloom jewelry, or the warmth in a couple's expression. By using high-quality artist grade oils, I ensure your portrait has depth, texture, and a luminosity that digital prints just cannot match.

Why Choose an Oil Portrait?

People often ask me why I stick to oil when other mediums are faster. The answer is simple: permanence and soul. An oil portrait becomes a family heirloom. It captures a specific moment—your wedding day, a milestone anniversary, or a quiet family connection—and freezes it in paint. It requires patience, and as I always tell myself, Sabr rakh, woh sabki sunta hai (Have patience, He listens to everyone).

Important Details for Your Commission

  • Subject: I specialize in both single-subject realism and detailed couple portraits.
  • Size & Materials: I use professional stretched canvas for wedding pieces to ensure they are ready to display.
  • Care: Each piece is finished with a humidity-resistant varnish to protect against yellowing and dust, so your memory stays vibrant for years to come. 🎨

If you have a specific reference photo in mind, share it with me. I would love to see if I can capture that moment for you on canvas.
