Minimalist Jewellery and Product Photography
Clean frames, focused lighting, and an honest eye for detail. I photograph jewellery to highlight craftsmanship, keeping the focus entirely on the design itself.
A serene and graceful portrait designed to highlight a statement choker. The model's closed eyes and the warm, earthy tones create a meditative mood, allowing the intricate gold jewellery to be the sole focus.
This close-up profile shot beautifully showcases a modern, minimalist gold earring. The clean background, soft lighting, and the model's elegant bun ensure that the unique shape and texture of the earring are perfectly captured.
A striking portrait where the model's direct gaze is balanced by the bold, gold hoop earrings. The deep blue background provides a rich contrast, making the jewellery pop in this editorial-style shot.
A classic profile shot that elegantly displays the gold choker. The composition is clean and sophisticated, focusing on the lines of the neck and collarbone to present the jewellery in a flattering, aspirational way.
A slightly different angle of the model wearing the large gold hoops. This shot feels intimate and powerful, with the focus squarely on her expression and the statement earrings that frame her face.
A classic and elegant profile shot in black and white. The focus is on the brilliant sparkle and crescent shape of the diamond earring, which stands out against the dark leather top and clean background.
This angle beautifully captures the light hitting a stunning diamond necklace. The black and white treatment emphasizes the cut and clarity of the stones, creating a look of pure luxury and sophistication.
About this collection
I use macro lenses and specialized lighting modifiers to manage tricky reflections on gold, silver, and gemstones. Because I handle all post-production myself, I personally ensure that micro-dust or fingerprints are removed without stripping away the organic texture of the metal.
When shooting jewellery, the biggest challenge is rarely the camera, but the light. Gold, diamonds, and polished silver act like tiny mirrors, picking up everything in the room. I do not believe in over-complicating a set with clutter. My process relies on clean framing and controlled, soft lighting to manage these reflections. Whether it is a 100mm macro shot for a catalogue or a wider composition for a campaign, the goal is clarity.
My approach to jewellery photography covers two main lanes:
-
Clean Catalogue Work: Essential for e-commerce. This involves focus stacking to ensure front-to-back sharpness and deep retouching to remove micro-scratches or dust, leaving you with images that are crisp, professional, and web-ready.
-
Editorial Storytelling: This is about mood. I use fabric, water, or simple geometric shapes to add depth without distracting from the piece. These shoots focus on how a piece feels when worn—the interaction between the metal and the skin.
I find that the most powerful images happen when we stop trying to force the sparkle. When the light hits the stone exactly right, the piece speaks for itself. If you are a designer looking to showcase your latest collection, let's keep it simple and authentic. I shoot in studio settings across the Mumbai Metropolitan Area, ensuring the vibe remains as quiet and focused as the final photograph.
