I’m Kalpana. These highlights capture my approach: less about counting, more about the rhythm. See how we turn music into movement, from intensive workshops to pure social dance.

This is the core of my teaching philosophy. Instead of just counting numbers, I teach you to feel the music and let the rhythm guide your steps. Learning to dance to sounds like "unka chaka" makes the movement intuitive and way more fun.

This moment perfectly captures what I mean by "chase connections, not combinations." A great dance is a conversation. Here, Pratik and I were so in sync that we switched roles mid-demo without missing a beat, proving that true connection is what makes a dance beautiful.

This is what it's all about. The formula for a great social dance is simple: great music, a real connection with your partner, and a whole lot of fun. This is the joy I want every student to feel on the dance floor.

In my Traditional Bachata workshops, we demystify the footwork by connecting it to the instruments in the music. It was amazing to see everyone at the Latin Fiesta Bangalore Weekender embrace this and find their own unique way to play with the steps.

Salsa isn't just one thing. Here's a look at our Salsa Con Rumba workshop, where we explored how to blend the rhythms and movements of Rumba into your Salsa. It’s all about understanding the music and knowing when to switch up the flavor.

Performing a solo is both terrifying and exhilarating. It's a moment to connect purely with the music and the audience. This was a special performance for me, a chance to put myself out there and share my love for the dance.

Dance has no borders! I had an absolute blast creating and dancing this Cuban Rumba piece with the incredible Adonis Santiago. It’s amazing to see how dance connects people from different cultures, like India and Cuba, on one floor.

About Featured

You’ll notice in these videos, I rarely count "1, 2, 3." Instead, we use rhythm-based sounds like "unka chaka" to help you internalize the beat before your feet even move. It's the difference between a student who mimics steps and a dancer who actually hears the music. Whether you're at a festival workshop or a social night, this is exactly how we build that effortless, real-life flow.
