About this collection

What makes these gift sets different is the partnership between two worlds. We have paired our signature Channapatna wooden rattles, turned from medicinal Aale mara wood, with soft, hand-dyed kora cotton apparel from our friends at Sankalpa Art Village. Every fabric piece is dyed using plant-based ingredients like manjistha and harada, ensuring the only thing touching your baby is nature.

Our approach to children's gifts is simple: it should be safe enough for a baby to chew on and beautiful enough to cherish as a keepsake.

The Art of Safe Play

The rattles you see here use the 200-year-old Channapatna craft. We use Aale mara, an ivory wood known for being gentle, and finish it with non-toxic, natural dyes. There are no sharp edges or synthetic finishes. These are designed for tactile exploration.

Threads of Heritage

The fabric components—bibs and tops—are a collaboration with Sankalpa Art Village. These women artisans dye the handloom kora cotton using nature-derived dyes like manjistha and katta. The applique designs are inspired by our own Channapatna toys, creating a cohesive set that bridges two distinct crafts.

Why Choose Handcrafted?

When you choose these sets for a baby shower or a first birthday, you are supporting independent women artisans. You are also rejecting mass-produced plastic in favor of something that has been made by a real person, using methods that have survived for generations. It is our way of ensuring that the 'joy of just enough' is the first thing a child experiences.
