About The V4 Kalasamithi Team
Chenda Melam is never a solo act. When you see us perform, you are watching a team that practices and coordinates together for years. That unity is the secret to the precise rhythm and the powerful energy you hear at your venue.
We are V4 Kalasamithi, and for us, Chenda Melam is about more than just keeping time. It is a complex dialogue between 15 artists, the drums, and the audience. Achieving the perfect Thalam (rhythm) requires total synchronization, which is why we value our bond as a team as much as the performance itself.
Whether we are playing at a wedding entrance in K.R. Puram or leading a procession in a college fest, our technical setup remains consistent. We use the heavy Uruttu Chenda for melody and the Veekku Chenda for the deep, resonant bass that carries over outdoor noise. We pride ourselves on the discipline of our group. Arrival times, uniform standards, and cue-based communication with wedding planners are all part of our professional process. We are not just hired hands. We are a family of artists dedicated to keeping the authentic sound of our homeland alive in the heart of Bangalore.
