Our Vertical Garden Installation Process
We manage the entire project—from site assessment and structural framework to planting and irrigation setup. Here is how we build a durable living wall in your space.
This video provides a look at my process. It begins at my nursery where we select the best plants, like these vibrant Neon Pothos, and follows my team to the client's site where they are expertly fitted into the green wall structure.
Here you can see my team at work on a terrace garden setup in Hauz Khas. We handle all aspects of the installation, including the structural framework and the careful placement of each plant to create the final design.
About The Installation Process
We construct our vertical gardens using a custom 1x1 inch MS (mild steel) hollow tube frame coated with anti-rust primer and black enamel. This rigid structure, combined with UV-stabilized pots and a lightweight soilless coco-peat mix, ensures your wall remains stable and structurally sound without causing long-term dampness to your wall.
How We Approach Installation
We treat every installation as a turnkey project. Because we operate our own nurseries, we aren't just installers; we are plant specialists who understand exactly how different species react to indoor and outdoor environments. Our process follows these core steps:
1. Site Assessment & Design Before we bring any material on-site, we evaluate your wall surface. We check for load-bearing capacity and, crucially, access to natural light. This determines whether we recommend a living bio-wall with hardy Pothos and Syngoniums or a low-maintenance artificial alternative.
2. The Structural Backbone Any vertical garden is only as good as the frame behind it. We fabricate custom MS frames on-site or in our workshop, specifically measured for your wall dimensions. Every piece is treated with anti-rust primer and finished with black enamel to ensure it survives years of constant moisture exposure.
3. Plumbing & Irrigation We integrate a 16mm inline drip irrigation pipe system running horizontally across the grid. This ensures uniform water distribution so every plant gets consistent hydration. For larger setups, we can also install digital timers to automate the watering cycle, reducing the manual effort required for maintenance.
4. Planting & Media We use a soilless mix—typically a blend of coco-peat, perlite, and vermicompost—which is vital for reducing the overall weight on your wall. This mix holds moisture effectively while preventing rot. We pack the pots densely with 10 to 12 plants per square foot to ensure the green wall looks lush and full from day one, rather than waiting for the plants to grow into the gaps.
