Behind the Scenes: Our Architectural Construction Process
Building a home is a journey, not just a final photo. Here is how we turn raw construction sites into intentional, light-filled living spaces before the finishing touches appear.
Trusting the process. This video shows the journey of a mixed-use building in Bangalore, from architectural drawings to the raw concrete structure taking shape. This is where the big vision begins to become a reality.
Construction is a team effort. Here, masons are meticulously laying a decorative brick wall. It's the combination of design vision and on-site skill that brings a project to life.
An under-construction view of a French-inspired balcony. This black and white shot highlights the intricate details, proportions, and symmetry that form the foundation of a well-crafted building elevation.
Even in its raw state, a well-planned space frames a view. This under-construction window opening was designed to perfectly frame the natural landscape outside, grounding the home and connecting it to its surroundings.
The raw, under-construction site of what will become a beautiful dining room. This image shows the starting point, a space of pure potential before the walls, floors, and finishes are added.
This cozy entryway is taking shape. The design combines different materials like stone, wood, and brick to create a textured and inviting passage that directs focus towards the main living areas.
A photo from the "Nidhi Nilayam" project site. This shows the bare structure of the home, with concrete pillars and unfinished walls, waiting to be transformed into a defined living space.
About this collection
When you work with us, you won't just see the polished 'after' shots. We take you through the raw concrete stage, like on our 'Tranquil' project, where we knocked down planned partitions before they were even built to truly open up the space. This messy middle stage is where we fix the flow, ensure natural light hits every corner, and make the big structural decisions that actually define how your home feels.
Trusting the Process
Many architects hide the dust, the rubble, and the scaffolding. We believe in showing it because that is where the real work happens. Construction is not a clean, linear path. It is a partnership between us, our site teams, and you. When we post photos of bricklaying or bare pillar structures, we are showing you the skeleton of the home.
Our Site Philosophy
We fight against 'Jathre' (chaotic mess) in design, and that starts at the site. A clean site is a thinking site. We focus on:
- Structural Integrity: Before we worry about aesthetics, we ensure the bones are right. Relocating sink points, reinforcing lintels, and managing electrical rewiring are invisible but essential.
- Natural Light Optimization: We often adjust window openings during the construction phase if we see a better way to frame the view, as seen in our work on the 'Tranquil' project.
- Material Efficiency: We believe in saving what we can. If we find leftover marble or usable stone on site, we turn it into custom furniture rather than discarding it.
Common Questions About Our Process
How much access do I have during construction? We encourage transparency. We prefer that our clients understand the choices being made on site. If you want to know why a wall is being moved, we want you to be part of that conversation.
Do you handle the entire construction management? Yes. From the moment we start demolition to the final coat of paint, we are on the ground managing our teams, the material procurement, and the site execution to ensure the vision stays intact.
Unskrithi Design Studio
We are Unskrithi, a team that sees architecture as a way to clear the clutter, not add to it. We don't just draft plans and walk away; we stand on-site with our contractors, ensuring every brick and electrical point matches our vision for a calmer, nature-focused home.
