Music is a constant journey of learning. This gallery is a tribute to my father and Guru, Pandit Sunil Banerjee, and the masters who taught me the language of rhythm.

A very happy birthday to my father, my Guru, and my hero, Pandit Sunil Banerjee. This is a throwback picture of him in his youth, a constant source of inspiration for me.

A collage celebrating Guru Purnima, dedicated to my Gurus: my father Pt. Sunil Banerjee, my mother Smt. Bharati Banerjee, and my Carnatic guru Vidwan S Sekhar ji. I am what I am because of them.

A blessed morning spent with the legendary Padmabhushan Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty. To be in the presence of such greatness and to receive his blessings is truly humbling.

A photo with the late, great Sarod Maestro Ken Zuckerman ji. I am heartbroken at his demise and will always cherish the time I spent learning from him, both on and off the stage.

Another picture with Ken ji. He was a purist who relentlessly experimented, teaching us that the journey of an artist is never over. His lessons will stay with me forever.

On stage with Ken Zuckerman ji, paying tribute to a legend in the backdrop. He taught me that one must strive to improve their music until the very last concert.

About My Gurus, Tributes & Lineage

When you invite me to perform, you are hiring a musician who treats every beat as an offering to my teachers. Whether it is a classical baithak or a modern collaborative concert, the discipline instilled by my father, Pt. Sunil Banerjee, and the experimental spirit shared by mentors like Ken Zuckerman ji remains at the heart of how I approach your event.

The Foundation of My Sound

Music, for me, is the sum of every lesson I have ever received. The Indian classical tradition is built on lineage, and my playing is deeply shaped by the discipline taught to me by my father and Guru, Pandit Sunil Banerjee. Growing up, I learned that tabla is not just about playing the right notes but about understanding the language of rhythm, the 'bols' (oral percussion), and the soul behind each stroke.

Balancing Tradition and Experimentation

Beyond traditional foundations, I have been fortunate to learn from masters like Ken Zuckerman ji. He showed me that being a purist does not mean you stop experimenting. His guidance taught me to keep striving for perfection, even in the smallest performance. Whether I am playing complex Lucknow and Farrukhabad gharana compositions or jamming on a Cajon for a corporate fusion set, that balance of respect for the roots and openness to the new is what I bring to the stage.

What This Means for Your Event

When I perform at a private concert, a wedding, or a corporate show, I bring that same intent. I do not just play the instrument; I try to share the history and the emotion of the music. If you are looking for a musician who understands the technical nuances of Hindustani classical accompaniment or someone who can blend the tabla into a modern setting, I am ready to collaborate. I perform across Mumbai and travel throughout India, carrying the lessons of my gurus into every concert I play.

I am a student of music first and a performer second. My tabla playing is a direct reflection of the hours spent sitting at the feet of maestros, listening, learning, and trying to keep the tradition alive while staying curious about new sounds.
