From explosive starts to endurance sets, see how we sharpen technique across all four strokes in every session.

Here's a glimpse of my own workout, focusing on Butterfly, Backstroke, and Breaststroke. I use these demos to show my swimmers the technique, and they are never shy about giving me corrections. We all keep learning.

Our sub-juniors and juniors practicing their backstroke starts and race strokes under the lights. Practice makes perfect, and we are always looking for those small improvements that make a big difference in a race.

This is the Individual Medley, or IM. It involves swimming all four strokes in order: Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Freestyle. We program IM sets to develop well-rounded, versatile swimmers.

Diving into deep water can be scary, but we break it down step-by-step. Here, our younger swimmers are learning to dive in the deep end while our pre-competitive kids practice from the starting blocks.

Sunday Funday means a full house and sprint sets. Here are our advanced kids and adults going head-to-head in some friendly competition. The energy is always high on sprint day.

An early 5 AM start for the Marlins and the Jellyfish. Training under the sunrise at our Nalapad Academy center is a beautiful way to start the day.

There's nothing quite like a sunrise swim. Our competitive team gets their weekend training in as the day begins. It's a peaceful but powerful start to a tough session.

Our swimmers working on their timing and rhythm, sinking in sync. Drills like this help improve coordination and feel for the water, which are crucial for efficient swimming.

Magnificent skies over our Domlur rooftop pool. We are lucky to train in some of Bangalore's best facilities, offering fresh air and beautiful views to go with the hard work.

We are excited to train at this beautiful 50-meter Olympic size pool at the Ray Center in Wilson Garden. A long-course pool is perfect for building endurance and preparing for major competitions.

About The Grind: Training & Technique

When you join our sessions, you aren't just swimming laps. We use underwater video analysis to show you exactly where your stroke breaks down, then we drill the specific catch or rotation until it becomes second nature, so you stop guessing and start improving.

Focus on the Individual Medley (IM)

We prioritize the Individual Medley in our programming because it forces you to become a versatile swimmer. By cycling through Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Freestyle, you develop better body awareness and strength that carries over to your primary stroke. It is not just about endurance; it is about building a swimmer who understands how to manage resistance and tempo across every style.

The Feedback Loop

Training is useless if you are practicing mistakes. We integrate video feedback loops to bridge the gap between how a stroke feels and how it actually looks. Whether it is refining your streamline off the block or fixing a hitch in your catch, we identify the mechanical inefficiency and fix it. You will spend less time mindlessly swimming and more time executing high-quality drills.

Squads and Facilities

We operate with two distinct training groups:

  • NMSA Marlins (8-16 yrs): High-performance youth training targeting competitive meets. We focus on race craft, flip turns, and block starts.
  • NMSA Jellyfish (25-65 yrs): A masters program for adults training for triathlons or personal milestones. We emphasize technique for distance and efficiency.

We utilize 25m covered pools for focused technical work and 50m Olympic-sized pools at venues like Wilson Garden for endurance building. No matter the pool, the goal is the same: consistent, measurable progress.

I've spent two decades in the water and still believe there is always a new way to get faster. My sessions are about working hard, having a laugh, and ensuring you actually understand the mechanics of your stroke rather than just clocking laps.
