Music is meant to be shared. Our monthly open mic nights at our Bangalore branches provide a supportive, low-pressure stage for students of all ages to perform.

About Our Stage: Student Open Mics

These sessions are not high-pressure recitals. We set up our monthly open mics to simulate real-world performance conditions, providing all students access to professional PA systems, dynamic microphones, and accompaniment. Whether you are a beginner taking the stage for the first time or a student polishing a piece for ABRSM exams, you get to perform in front of a supportive audience of teachers and peers.

Performance is an essential component of musical development at Trishan School of Music. We believe that regular, consistent stage exposure is the most effective way to build confidence and refine your technical ability. Our monthly sessions serve as a bridge between the practice room and public performance, allowing students to learn how to manage stage nerves and adapt to live sound environments.

Why We Prioritize Performance

  • Technical Familiarity: You will learn how to handle professional-grade equipment, including Shure and Sennheiser style microphones, stands, and mixing setups. This experience is vital for those pursuing professional music careers or formal graded exams.
  • Inclusive Atmosphere: Our stages are open to everyone, regardless of their instrument or genre. We host performances for guitarists, drummers, pianists, and vocalists alike, covering styles ranging from Western pop and classic rock to Hindustani classical and Carnatic music.
  • Supportive Environment: Performances are held at our Bangalore centers in HSR Layout, BEML Layout, and Sarjapur Road. Because these are student-focused events, the audience consists of fellow musicians and faculty who understand the learning process, creating a collaborative space rather than a critical one.

Preparing for Your Performance

If you are currently enrolled in our classes, you are eligible to participate. We encourage students to treat these sessions as a dress rehearsal for their actual progress, whether that means preparing for an ABRSM certification or simply gaining the comfort to play in front of others. If you have been working on a piece during your individual or group sessions, talk to your instructor about slotting it into the next available open mic night.
