Redesign Old Gold Jewellery into Modern Heirlooms
That old jewellery sitting in your locker has a story. We transform your family heirlooms like gold ginnis, haslis, and mangalsutra pendants into fresh, wearable art you will love to wear every day.
That jewellery sitting in your locker has a story that isn't finished yet. I specialize in giving your cherished pieces a second life, whether it's turning a classic diamond necklace into a striking hasli or redesigning your grandmother's earrings into a pair you will want to wear every day.
Jai Shri Krishna. Here is how I completely refurbished an old gold set to look absolutely new. With a few thoughtful changes like adding kundan birds, fresh meena work, and delicate moti piroi, we gave this traditional necklace a renewed sense of grandeur.
Don't know what to do with old ginni pendants? See how I converted a client's pieces into this beautiful gota puslu necklace. By enhancing the gold coins with emeralds and pearls, we created a versatile choker that she can now wear on any occasion.
All of us have old gold chains and earrings lying in our lockers. In this video, I show how I combined two different types of chains and a pair of earrings from a client to create a magnificent South Indian style layered necklace.
A mangalsutra pendant holds so much significance. Here, I took a client's traditional pendant and motifs and redesigned them into a beautiful new choker. I added elephant motifs, green and red stones, and white moti piroi to create a piece she can cherish in a new way.
Sometimes, even a simple piece can be transformed into something festive. I took a classic gold hasli and gave it a modern update by adding a big solitaire polki, a line of diamonds, and a fringe of delicate rice pearls.
Minimal changes can make a huge impact. For this set, the client just wanted a fresh look. I changed the meena color to a vibrant green and red and added emeralds with moti piroi to completely transform its feel.
It was so special when a member of my Instagram family reached out to get her old set remodeled. This video shows the before and after of her treasured necklace, which we updated with new motifs and details to give it a grander, more contemporary look.
A client brought me two old gold pieces with a small budget and a desire for something unique and colorful. I added two new bird motifs with meenakari, created a mala with ruby beads, and finished the look with emeralds to create this vibrant pendant necklace.
This piece was 40 years old, and the client's vision was to convert it into a large, statement pendant. I created a gold frame, added polkis, emeralds, and two beautiful gold elephants, all strung on pearl malai to bring her vision to life.
About Heirloom Redesign: A New Story for Your Old Treasures
When you bring us your jewellery, we start by testing the purity of your gold and diamonds. We do not just melt them down; we assess how to keep the original emotional value intact while adding structural updates like new 18kt gold, meenakari, or fresh moti piroi. You get a one-on-one design consultation at our Malad studio to finalize the look before we begin the actual craftsmanship.
Your heirloom jewellery is more than metal; it is a family history. Many clients come to us with classic pieces—an old ginni necklace, a heavy hasli, or traditional temple earrings—that feel dated but are too precious to sell. Our redesign service bridges that gap between heritage and modern style. We specialize in handling sensitive transformations. Whether it is extracting stones from a 40-year-old pendant to set into a modern choker or combining two different gold chains into a layered South Indian style mala, our focus is on structural integrity and aesthetics.
The Transformation Process
We melt and refine your old gold to verify weight and quality. Then, we add necessary components—18kt gold for structural strength, fresh semi-precious beads, or new Meenakari enamel—to give the piece a contemporary silhouette. You are involved from the initial sketch to the final 2D rendering. Pricing typically ranges between ₹45,000 and ₹2,25,000 for the service, depending on the complexity of the redesign and the materials required. We also handle careful stone removal and re-setting to ensure your diamonds and polki retain their brilliance in their new casing.
