From Heirlooms to Bridal Masterpieces: Redesign Your Wedding Gold
Don't leave your family’s legacy sitting in a locker. I help you transform old bridal sets or Nani’s favorite jewelry into modern, wearable pieces for your big day, all without melting a single gram of your original gold.
This is one of my favorite stories. A mother's bridal necklace was lovingly upcycled for her daughter's big day, transforming into a stunning South Indian bridal piece. It’s a beautiful way to pass down love and legacy.
Wedding jewelry is more than just gold; it's emotion and blessings. We took a mother's old five-coin necklace and reimagined it with handcrafted kundan pieces and modern details for her daughter to wear on her wedding day.
We transformed an old heirloom necklace into a grand wedding set for a daughter. By adding layers of pearls and reworking the original gold, we created a bridal piece that is both new and full of history.
A close-up view of the magnificent bridal set we created by combining heirlooms from both the bride's Dadi and Nani. The detail shows how we blend different styles into one cohesive, stunning piece.
See the intricate details of this upcycled bridal set. We combined a traditional gold choker with a long haar, adding emeralds and pearls to create a layered look that is perfect for a modern bride.
A mother's wedding set, a gold bead necklace, was updated with kundan and detailed pearl work so she could wear it at her own daughter's wedding. This shows that you can wear your most cherished jewelry for the next generation's big moments.
A client from Surat brought us her grandmom's old thodiyas and pendant. We turned them into this modern statement set, perfect for her daughter to wear at her chooda ceremony, carrying blessings from generations past.
Before you shop for new wedding jewelry, check your family's locker. We took old thodiyas and a pendant and created a statement necklace and earrings, proving that your grandmom's blessings can be your most beautiful accessory.
About From Heirlooms to Bridal Masterpieces
I do not just put new things together. When I work on your bridal set, I keep 70-80% of your original gold intact, only adding the necessary structure and stones to align with modern trends. We will sit together, either in person or over a call, to sketch out exactly how your mom’s wedding necklace can become your own statement piece for your big day.
When you bring your family jewelry to Kivlo, I see the history and the stories attached to each piece. My process starts with an honest conversation, whether at my Opera House studio or over a video call. We look at your items, discuss your style, and sketch a new design that fits your wedding vision.
For a bridal masterpiece, I typically integrate three to five heirloom items. I keep your original gold entirely intact. We only add new 22kt gold to create sturdy frames or connectors if needed. Then, I introduce elements like uncut diamonds, pearls, rubies, or emeralds to give the piece a fresh look while honoring the original craftsmanship.
Whether it is a traditional Guttapusalu necklace or a modern heritage choker, the goal is to make sure you wear your legacy with pride. You get to keep the sentiment of your mother’s wedding set while stepping into your own style. Every piece is hallmarked and thoroughly cleaned before it reaches you.
