A Peek Behind the Scenes at Our Art Studio
Ever wonder how your custom art goes from a simple sketch to a finished piece? Come into my studio, meet the team, and see the reality behind the vibrant, hand-painted magic we create.
The reality of running a small business. It's not always glamorous. Most days, I'm the one packing boxes and making sure every order is perfect.
They say it takes a village to build a business, and mine starts with a call to my Papa. He's my business hotline, my problem solver, and my biggest supporter.
A day in the life of the artists at The Yellow Brush studio. From commuting through traffic to coffee breaks and packing orders, this is our daily hustle.
Nobody warns you about this when you start a small business. You have to wear every hat, celebrate the small wins, and keep showing up even on tough days.
My favorite part of the day is our team coffee break. We're all coffee lovers here, and it's a moment to pause and connect.
We love the planet, which is why we reuse packaging materials whenever possible. It's our small way of being a sustainable business.
The last few weeks were rough, but as a business owner, you don't get to pause. You just show up and do the work.
Mistakes I made in the first year of launching The Yellow Brush. I'm sharing these lessons so other small business owners can learn from my journey.
My Papa helping out with the technical side of things, figuring out how to assemble the lights for our bottle lamps. His wisdom is invaluable.
My Papa enjoying his morning tea in one of our hand-painted cups. He's not just my advisor, he's also our best product tester.
About From My Studio to Yours
It isn't always just paint and coffee breaks. Most days you will find us in the middle of some creative chaos, carefully sanding down old furniture for upcycling or debating which varnish gives the best matte finish for a long-distance shipment. When you order from us, you are not just getting a product, you are getting something that has survived our studio traffic, careful packing sessions, and definitely a few frantic calls to my Papa.
Running The Yellow Brush is far from the 'flowery' life some people imagine. It is a daily hustle of wearing every hat—artist, accountant, and the person who figures out why the courier box just collapsed. My studio in Bengaluru is where all the action happens.
My process is personal. I do not believe in copying stock photos; I work with bold lines and expressive colors to capture a feeling, not just a face. Whether I am turning an old, dusty bottle into a lamp or painting a family portrait on a wall plate, every step is deliberate.
I rely heavily on my team and my 'business hotline', my Papa, who helps me solve the logistical puzzles that keep this small business running. We are conscious about our footprint too. We use honeycomb paper and reuse shipping materials because we want our art to be kind to the planet, not just your walls.
If you see something here you like, know that it started as a conversation. We discuss your story, draft a layout, and then I apply my signature style to bring it to life. I ship across India, so no matter where you are, you can bring a bit of our studio chaos and color into your home.
The Yellow Brush
I am Tanvi, and The Yellow Brush is my heart-project, built on long-distance advice from my Papa and a whole lot of color. We are just a small team in Bengaluru obsessed with turning boring, everyday items into pieces of joy.
