Behind the Canvas: My Custom Art Process

Peek into my studio, where memories become canvases. Every piece is handcrafted with love, from the first sketch to the final varnish.

This video shows the beginning stages of a large-scale line art portrait. I start with a blank canvas and carefully sketch the design before filling in the details, using a reference image to guide me.

Here I am working on a large, abstract yellow piece. My process is often intuitive and physical, especially with large-scale art.

In my studio, working on a textured mountain painting. You can see my paint palette and the tools I use to create different effects on the canvas.

Adding the final touches to a large, textured abstract piece with a vibrant color palette. I get completely lost in the process of creating.

Applying a base coat to a custom-shaped MDF board. A lot of preparation goes into each piece before the main painting even begins.

About this collection

It’s not just about the final brushstroke, it’s about the weeks of preparation that go into each piece. Before I touch a canvas, we spend time mapping out your story, choosing the color palette, and sometimes even engineering custom shapes for MDF installations. This collaborative phase ensures the final artwork feels like it truly belongs in your space.

From the first sketch to the final varnish, my process is entirely hands-on.

The Initial Spark Every project starts with a conversation. Whether it is a specific color palette from your Pinterest board or a collection of travel memories, I want to understand what makes your space feel like 'you'.

Preparation and Craft If I am working on a large-scale MDF installation or a set of textured canvases, the foundation is everything. I cut, sand, and prime the materials myself to ensure they are durable and ready for the paint. This is often the most labor-intensive part of the journey.

Layering and Texture This is where I get lost in the work. Using acrylics, modeling paste, and palette knives, I build up layers. For my abstract pieces, I focus on depth and movement, for travel diaries, I focus on those tiny, intricate details that pull a memory together.

The Final Seal Once the paint is dry, I apply a protective varnish to keep the colors vibrant and shield the surface from dust. Every piece is carefully packed with separators to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition, no matter where you are in India.
