About Upcoming Workshops & Schedules
Whether you are here for a 7-hour power tool intensive or a 14-hour hardwood carving weekend, we limit our student-to-mentor ratio to make sure you actually learn the technique rather than just watching a demo. You are going to use professional equipment like Japanese Zetsaws or MIG welders, and by the end of the day, you will be holding the furniture or art piece you built with your own hands.
At our Horamavu workshop, we believe that making things is the missing pillar of self-development. You do not need to be a pro to get started. Our schedule is designed to help you build confidence, learn technical skills, and leave with something you are proud of.
We offer a range of workshops catering to different skill levels and interests:
Woodworking and Power Tools
If you have never touched a drill, our DIY Power Tooling session is the perfect place to start. You will learn safety basics, how to operate jigsaws, mitre saws, and sanders, and construct a functional piece like a shelf or stool in just one day.
Hand Tool Joinery and Carving
For those who want to slow down and focus on precision, our joinery and carving sessions are where the real gyan happens. You will learn how to use Japanese saws and chisels to create complex joints like the half-lap, or use gouges to sculpt raw Burma Teak or Acacia into organic bowls and spoons.
Maker School for Young Creators
Our Maker School programs for ages 7 to 16 are about more than just building toys. We focus on problem-solving, design thinking, and resilience. Whether it is a weekly club or a summer program, we want to help kids and teens get off their screens and into the workshop.
All our workshops are all-inclusive. We provide the lumber, safety gear, and specialized tools like kilns or welding equipment. Just show up with comfortable clothes and a willingness to learn. We keep our batches small to ensure everyone gets enough time on the tools, so please check the current schedule and reach out early to secure your spot.
The Workshop
We are The Workshop, and we are all about that happy buzz you get when you make stuff with your own hands. We started this because we saw how making things got left behind, and we believe it is for everyone. Nothing beats watching someone, whether a kid or a professional, light up after creating something real.
