About Real Tools, Real Skills: Woodworking Workshops
Every child gets a pair of safety goggles and learns the fundamentals: measuring with a ruler, using a hand saw, and securing joints with a hammer under 1:5 supervision. By the end of the 2 to 3 hour session, they walk out with a functional item like a desk organizer or wooden car they built entirely on their own.
We strip away the theory and focus entirely on the experience. Children aged 5 to 12 learn the mechanics of construction, which builds focus, spatial awareness, and confidence. It is a screen-free environment where the goal is tangible progress.
What happens in the workshop
- Safety First: We maintain a high mentor-to-child ratio of 1:5 to ensure every participant handles sharp equipment safely. Safety goggles and aprons are standard.
- Real Tools: Kids use actual hand saws, C-clamps, and manual drills. This is not a simulation; they learn how to handle gear that produces real results.
- Take-Home Projects: Every workshop leads to a functional output. Whether it is a storage box or a wooden vehicle, they leave with something they can use at home or school.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Is it safe for a 5-year-old? Absolutely. We use child-friendly soft pine wood and age-appropriate tools. Supervision is constant throughout the project.
- Where are these held? We run weekly batches at premium locations like Neriah Montessori in Prabhadevi and Giggles and Wiggles in Khar West. We also travel for private workshops across Mumbai if you want a dedicated party or playdate session.
- Do I need to carry anything? Not at all. We provide all materials, including wood, sandpaper, paints, and safety gear. Just bring the child.
