About Metalworking & Welding
The most daunting part of welding is the first time you strike an arc, as that bright, intense flash can feel intimidating. Here at our Horamavu floor, we swap that fear for fun. You will get the gear, learn the safety basics, and within a few hours, you are not just watching sparks fly—you are controlling them to join metal. It is loud, it is visceral, and it is easily one of the most satisfying ways to spend a Sunday.
Why Metalworking?
Metal is permanent. It is structural. When you build something out of metal, you are making it for life. Our workshops are designed to strip away the intimidating layer of industrial fabrication and bring it back to basics. We focus on the process of making rather than chasing a perfect aesthetic.
What You Will Actually Do
- Safety First: We start with a 30-minute induction on tool usage and safety gear because, honestly, safety is the most important skill in any workshop.
- Cutting & Grinding: Learn how to handle an angle grinder to cut through mild steel and clean up your edges.
- The Weld: We cover the fundamentals of MIG and arc welding. You will practice laying down a bead, joining two pieces of metal, and testing the strength of your own work.
- The Take-Home: You are not leaving with a theory lesson. You are leaving with a physical object—whether it is a piece of metal art, a custom-welded sculpture, or your first attempt at a functional furniture piece.
For the Curious & The Makers
Whether you are a total noob who has never held a power tool or a designer looking to add metal fabrication to your skillset, this is your space. We have seen everyone from college students and architects to corporate teams and curious hobbyists join us. We keep our batches small to ensure the lead makers can actually help you troubleshoot your specific welds and ideas.
Looking for something more intense? We also run long-format modules for those who want to dive deeper into silversmithing, metal furniture basics, or complex metal art structures.
