From the Workshop Floor
Step away from the screen and see what happens when you actually build something. Our Horamavu makerspace is open for everyone to create, learn, and get messy.
We love hearing from everyone who comes through our doors, from architects and game designers to IT professionals and students. This is a space for the curious to explore and discover.
The dream team at work. Our mentors are here to guide, teach, and support you through your making journey, whether it's with wood, metal, cement, or digital tools.
Hammering is a highly underrated skill. To build something exceptional, you need a solid foundation, and that starts with mastering the basics. More tools, more practice, more making.
A quick look at the different processes happening in the workshop on any given day. From grinding metal and working with bamboo to hammering on an anvil, we love the process in all its forms.
About From the Workshop Floor
Forget the Pinterest board and come pick up a saw. Whether you are a total noob or just need an escape from your laptop, our floor is set up for you to actually build. We handle the safety gear and the expert mentorship, so you can just focus on the satisfying hum of the sander and the feeling of something real taking shape under your hands.
What Happens Here?
This isn't a classroom with rows of desks and boring lectures. Our Horamavu warehouse is a fully kitted makerspace designed for one thing: getting things made. From the moment you walk onto the floor, you'll see sparks flying from the welding bay, sawdust on the benches, and people turning raw materials into finished pieces.
It’s For Everyone
We built this space because we were tired of seeing 'creative' activities that felt like arts and crafts for kids. You don't need a degree in engineering or design to be here. We’ve had IT professionals, architects, and students all working side-by-side. If you have an idea, we have the tools to help you build it.
The Gear
Our floor is packed with professional-grade equipment that you likely don't have in your apartment:
- Woodworking: Mitre saws, orbital sanders, and pillar drills.
- Metalwork: Welding gear, anvils, and grinders for those who want to get gritty.
- Digital Fabrication: Laser cutters and prototyping tools for when you need precision.
Why Build?
Most of us spend our days moving pixels on a screen. There is a specific kind of relief that comes from working with physical mass. Whether you’re joining a weekend woodworking session or dropping by to finish a piece for your home, you leave with more than just an object. You leave with the satisfaction of knowing you built it with your own hands. That’s the real gyan.
