We help kids swap screen time for stories, turning books into lifelong friends through creative writing, interactive book reviews, and imaginative play in our cozy Noida library.

Our reading space is designed for comfort and fun, with cozy pods where kids can relax and immerse themselves in a good book.

This video shows it all: children reading independently, working on book-related crafts, and filling out their own book review worksheets.

I use simple tools like this hand-shaped guide on the chalkboard to teach children the key elements of summarizing a story for creative writing.

Examples of creative writing summaries from my students. These activities encourage them to think critically about plot, character, and motivation.

Our yummilicious cheeseburger book reports! This fun format encourages kids to break down a story into different "layers," making book reports a creative project.

A beautiful book review for "Monkey Puzzle" by Julia Donaldson. We encourage children to illustrate their reviews to connect with the story visually.

Another wonderful book review, this time for "The Cherry Tree" by Ruskin Bond. This activity combines reading comprehension, writing, and art.

About this collection

It is not just about finishing a book; it is about how a child digests the story. Take our 'cheeseburger' book reports, for example—a hands-on way kids break down plots into layers of character, setting, and conflict. It turns a silent activity into something tactile and creative that they actually want to show off.

When reading becomes a task, children naturally resist. We flip that script. At The Reading Room, we believe in 'khel khel mein seekhna' (learning while playing), where books are not just words on a page, but the starting point for a bigger adventure.

How We Spark Imagination

Our approach blends reading with critical thinking and art. It is common for our members to start by reading a classic, like Ruskin Bond’s 'The Cherry Tree', and end by illustrating their own interpretation of the characters. We do not just ask for summaries. We use tools like our chalkboard visualization guide to teach children how to identify plot, motivation, and resolution. This helps them structure their own thoughts before they ever pick up a pen.

Beyond the Book

We integrate different disciplines to keep things fresh. One week, we might be exploring abstract art techniques inspired by Piet Mondrian, using those lessons to talk about composition and color in stories. Another week, we might be using globes and atlases to trace the journeys of our favorite literary characters. By treating stories as a jumping-off point for science, art, and geography, we help children build a broader worldview.

Why Parents Choose Us

In a world of constant notification pings, our library in Sector 39 offers a necessary detox. Kids get to:

  • Build Confidence: Through group book reviews and sharing their work, they learn to articulate their opinions clearly.
  • Develop Critical Skills: From handwriting improvement to narrative structure, we focus on the mechanics of writing.
  • Think Creatively: Whether it is a cheeseburger book report or a puppet show, we ensure the process is as engaging as the result.

Every session is designed to make books their best friends, ensuring that when they leave us, they are not just better readers, but more curious thinkers.

The Reading Room

At The Reading Room, Sector 39, NoidaStarting ₹3,500 per 1-week module (5-7 sessions)

We started The Reading Room because we wanted a space where books win over phones every single time. Here, your child is not just sitting in a library; they are part of a gang of little thinkers, puppet masters, and storytellers.
