Festival Fun & Traditional Celebrations for Kids
We believe festivals are the best classrooms. Join us at our Noida space where we swap screens for stories, crafts, and festive traditions that bring Indian culture to life.
Our children performing the Ramleela. This annual Dussehra event is a wonderful way to explore Indian mythology, drama, and teamwork.

About this collection
We don't just celebrate festivals; we dive into the stories behind them. When we do our annual Ramleela, your child isn't just watching a play, they are crafting Ravan masks, learning why we celebrate Dussehra, and exploring emotions like tolerance and perseverance through drama. It is a screen-free space where culture becomes a hands-on experience, and kids leave with their own handmade creations.
At The Reading Room, we noticed that many kids today know about the presents they get on festivals but often miss out on the rich, cultural stories behind them. My goal is to change that. Whether it is our annual Ramleela performance or our Janmashtami storytelling sessions, we focus on the 'why' and 'how' of our traditions.
How We Celebrate
- Drama & Storytelling: For Dussehra, we don't just talk about Ravan; we perform a mini-Ramleela. Kids pick up props, learn voice modulation, and express characters, which helps build confidence and empathy. We don't worry about being perfect; we focus on the joy of acting.
- Hands-On Crafting: Festivals come alive through making. From designing Ravan masks to creating mosaics of the Indian flag for Republic Day, we believe that when a child makes something with their hands, they remember the story forever.
- Cultural Context: We keep it simple and age-appropriate. When we watch a movie about Krishna’s birth for Janmashtami, it is followed by a group discussion where kids connect the dots. It’s all about interactive learning.
- Community Vibe: It is all about the 'gang of little thinkers.' Parents tell me they love that their kids are learning about Diwali, Christmas, or Republic Day in a group, with peers, away from tablets.
We keep these sessions focused on group interaction and fun. If you are looking for a space in Noida Sector 39 where your child can enjoy the festive spirit while picking up life skills and making new friends, come by for our next celebration.
The Reading Room
I am Riddhika, and I started The Reading Room to give kids a place where they can just be themselves. I love seeing the spark in a child's eyes when they finally understand a story or finish a craft project. Come by, sit with us, and let’s make memories together.
